Last week it was George Harrison and today comes news that starting November 13th Led Zeppelin will be available as digital downloads.
Led Zeppelin’s catalog is among the most enduring bodies of rock music to come out of the 20th century – and now it’s coming to the 21st. As one of digital music’s final holdouts, the band’s original albums will be available as full-album or a la carte download from all online music retailers. (read more)
Note: Given the label releasing the product it will almost certainly by come with DRM and not be mp3’s.

Ticketmaster apparently thinks its worth 5 tracks on iTunes.  Join their Ticketmaster Live group on Facebook and they’ll give you 5 downloads for free.
Hate Ticketmaster so much you don’t want to be their friend?  Grab the tracks and go back the next day and pull your name off the list.

Universal is talking to other major labels about starting a music subscription service “Total Control” funded by portable player manufacturers like Zune. If it happens you may pay more for the player and then get most of the music on it free.
Concert giant Live Nation grabbed Madonna from Warner Brother’s Records for recording, touring and more. Price tag: $130 million.
Rumors have Facebook launching a download store or ramping up to compete with MySpace’s music content. iLike, AmieSt, Nimbit and others are already using Facebook’s open platform for free music applications that help you add music to your personal Facebook page.

George Harrison’s solo catalog is finally available digitally from EMI records.
Nine albums were released online this week and the remainder will follow in 2008. These albums means that all four Beatles’ solo catalogs are now available digitally.
But sadly there are still no digital downloads from The Beatles as a group.
