Amazon Adds DRM Free MP3 Downloads From Warner Music

Today Amazon.com announced that DRM-free music downloads from Warner Music Group of record labels (Warner, Elektra, Atlantic and more) are available (exclusively for now) on Amazon MP3. This means that acts like The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rob Thomas, Diddy, The Eagles, Green Day, Led Zeppelin, Madonna, Metallica and man others are available for the first time in a format that can be played on virtually any player and burned to a CD with ease.

The addition of the Warner Music labels to Amazon’s million plus track mp3 only catalog, which already includes music from EMI, Universal and thousands of smaller labels, means that only the Sony BMG family of labels (Sony, Columbia, Epic, RCA, BMG and others) are left selling downloads with copy restrictions. Expect them to give in soon.

DRM IS FINALLY DEAD…
