R.I.P. – Dave Clark Five Lead Singer Mike Smith

Dave Clark Five lead singer Mike Smith died at age 64 of pneumonia in London Thursday just days before the band was to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 10th. Smith had been admitted to the hospital on Wednesday with a chest infection, a complication from a 2003 spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed below the ribcage. Buddy Miles, who co-founded and played drums in the Band Of Gypsys with Jimi Hendrix, passed away on Tuesday yesterday in Austin, Texas at the age of 60. Here’s some great footage of Buddy from the Hendrix documentary:

Apple recently cut prices on several models of iPods and more cuts are rumored. Now Creative is following suit with price cuts to its popular line of Zen players.
Just a couple weeks after cutting the price of their 32GB model to $299, Creative has cut the price of the 4GB Zen to just $99, and the 8GB model to $149. That’s the same price as the 4GB iPod Nano.
Stay tunes for news of the rumored Zen Share that is said to be an amped up version of the Zune with WiFi capabilities.
