R.I.P. – Dave Clark Five Lead Singer Mike Smith
Dave Clark Five lead singer Mike Smith died at age 64 of pneumonia in London Thursday just days before the band was to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 10th. The Beatles were the BEST band from Britain and possibly the World during the tumultous 60’s…BEHIND Mike Smith & the Dave Clark Five!!!
The DC5 were the Heart, the Beatles, the Soul of the 60’s. The second the DC5 hit their first chord, you could cut the energy you felt with a knife.
I played keyboards & drums then and still dabble …but when I’m asked to belt out a tune by friends at local Karioke clubs, I ask for a DC5 tune to sing before ANY other artist.
R.I.P. Mike Smith and congrats on your Hall induction…if anyone deserves it, you do.
