5 More New Indie Bands You Need To Know About

Paris Street – The Dress Song
With a sound drenched in Americana, jangly guitars and organs, and vocals from a singer who sounds like he’s just woken from a whiskey induced coma, it’s no surprise this band hail from the home of country music, Nashville, Tennessee. The Dress Song is a gentle folk ditty imploring a girlfriend to ditch the trousers and wear a dress for a change. The lyrics may be slightly dubious but the effect is ultimately very sweet.

Download New Pennywise Album Free

Download New Pennywise Album Free

You can grab a full free download of Pennywise’s new  album “Reason To Believe” for about a week via their MySpace page here.
You’ll need a MySpace profile and have to give up your cell info so they can text you a code good for the download; and presumably they’ll text you a few other things. But hold onto the original link and you should be able to delete the cell info after you’ve gotten the download.
Either way it seems like a small price to pay to get the new Pennywise free.  Cool stuff.

Next: A 20 Million Song iPod

Next: A 20 Million Song iPod

Can you imagine carrying every song ever recorded around in your pocket?
It’s possible thanks to new technology developed at the University of Rochester that digitally reproduces music in a format 1,000 times smaller than a regular MP3.
LET’S DO THE MATH: An 80G iPod can currently hold about 20,000 songs. Multiply that by 1000 using the new technology and your same player could hold 20 million songs.
Actually finding that many tracks could be the hard part (and expensive!). The World’s Largest Record Collection only boasts 6 million songs and Amazon offers just 4,683,676 tracks for sale.
