5 More New Bands You Need To Know About

Barry PriceRun and Hide
You know when someone you completely idolize does something silly and stupid to make you angry, but can immediately turn cute and deliver a whimsical and silly apology? Try as you might to maintain a mad face—the giggle eventually wins out and everything is fine and dandy. That’s the power Barry Price holds over whoever listens to his music—it can turn any mood into a good one. Much like the snappy yet smooth lyrics of Jason Mraz, Price’s songs are mesmerizingly charming and absolutely adorable.

Mamajuana
Muevelo
Looking for some upbeat tunes to get you into the swing of summer? Mamajuana has what you’re looking for—and a whole lot more. So dubbed by the sun-loving Dominicans that discovered the drink, Mama Juana is a mix of rum, red wine, and honey soak with tree bark and herbs—and said to be a natural aphrodisiac (in fact, the man who sold it to me on my visit to Hispaniola told me it “make you like Spiderman”). Be it the beverage or this 12-piece rhythmic band, Mamajuana serves up a delicious jolt of energy and fun.

Candy Apple - Jeanie Was a Motorbiker
First off, this band’s album art arouses me.  Looking as if it were the original member of the Ocean’s Eleven with an axe over his shoulder?  Well, yes sir, I do believe that Jeanie was Motorbiker. That is the name of the band, Candy Apple’s song (Jeanie Was a Motorbiker). This state side band has enough mph to rock plenty a suburban garage.  It is a pleasant return to rock ‘n roll and for that they deserve recognition. You gotta respect those that keep it old school, and classy.

Cora SmythTo the Tequila Bar
Exactly what I would listen to if I were going to down several shots of the elite Jose Cuervo.  Celtic music YES!!  Cora Smith’s lively melodies make for a chipper morning, afternoon, or evening.  Tequila is optional, of course.  The violin flexes its testicles on this track, inviting along a wild organ. Toast, everyone.  Check out ALL of this artist’s other tracks by the way.
