Hey how come you can sort your music by artist on itunes but not on your ipod? what’s up with that??

You can still sort through the songs by album or artist even if you have a playlist. iTunes puts the songs on your iPod and still allows you to sort through the songs, not just through the playlist. But having separate iTunes installations on different computers can help out a lot.

I bounce all over the place with my iPod so playlists are kind of out of the questions when wanting to listen to a specific album, I have over 5000 songs on my iPod and my wife has significantly less than that so it’s kind of hard and time concusuming to create the multiple number of playlists that I would have to create. the easiest way that I can think of is to keep her songs on the desktop and mine on the laptop and only sync mine with the laptop and hers on the desktop.

What about creating separate playlists and having iTunes set to only synchronize those playlists to the respective iPods? That’s the easiest route to go, really. You can set up multiple playlists to sync to each iPod still, you’d just have to check the songs that you want in each playlist.

What I hate about iTunes software is that it doesn’t allow you to create different profiles for multiple iPod users (Or maybe it does and I just haven’t figured it out yet.) See I have an iPod classic 80gb and my wife has a nano 4 gb…yewah, not fair right. Well everytime she add music and want to sink it she has to unselect the thousands of songs I have selected in order to sync her new music and same for me. Everytime I want to add music on the same computer I have to select all and then unselect her stuff. I don’t want Liona lewis or Madonna on my iPod and sometimes I miss unchecking those things. So now we have another computer that I use and I have to sync on that computer…it’s a pain in the butt. Any suggestions?
