Apple iPod touch 8 GB

iPod_Touch_8_GB

I don’t even know where to begin to explain the features on the new Apple iPod touch 8 GB. I mean this thing can do anything; watch movies and listen to songs downloaded from iTunes, surf the Internet, look at any image file, and open any kind of document – PDF, Word, Excel. Find your way with its GPS capability and find up to date weather information.

Note: The iPod Touch and the iPhone are not the same, they were just designed to have the same touch 3.5 inch screen.

Now available at the OurDigitalMusic Store for $284.98

You know, all those features sound really cool, but I think if they really want to sell them, they need to give the memory a giant boost. Thats the deciding factor for a lot of people. They want memory to store their music and if you’re seriously in to music 8 gigs is not a lot of space, especially if you’re loading movies on to it.

Well, Scott, there are options with regards to size. There are 16 GB and 32 GB iPt’s available. I don’t know what’s new about this. It’s been available since Sept 2007. Mine’s been jailbroken from the get go and I have some nice apps on there – namely MobileScrobbler (last.fm), an ebook reader, and some games.

I’ve been considering moving to the new 2.0x software which would give me official AppStore access, but I think there are some bugs that need to be worked out with regards to backups.

The iPt doesn’t have a true GPS chip, it should be noted. It uses wi-fi finder to give your approximate location.

Would you recommend it blip? I think it looks cool but for me it would have to work “bug free” before before I’d get one.

It all depends on what you want to use it for. If you need it all get the Touch. You can always dump and store the files you don’t use often on your computer.
