Dumb Newsflash – Loud Music Can Cause Hearing Loss
Seriously? Scientists at the European Commission are warning "young people" about the dangers of listening to mp3 players too loudly. Apparently, people can suffer from hearing loss after "five years if they listen to mp3 players at too high a volume for more than five hours a week."
Okay, I don’t know about you but haven’t you heard this about a trillion times in your life? My grandmother knew this like 30 years ago. I hope that study didn’t cost too much money because you could have gotten the same advice for free from scientists at the School of Common Sense.
The one bit that I found interesting was that the Commission estimates that between 50 and 100 million people listen to portable music players on a daily basis. That is a pretty amazing statistic when you think about it. I’d love to see the estimates for how many people exercise every day.
