Using Filters To Discover New Music
With so much music coming at you from so many directions, how do you avoid wasting incredible amounts of time trying to discover new music that YOU want to listen to?
As with most things involving the internet, its both simple and complex. Complex because it will take a some time and effort in the beginning and simple because once you do it will almost automate itself. Its called finding and using “filters” and letting them do the work for you.
Filters are sources like online radio stations, bloggers, and playlists from fans with similar tastes that you let spend there spare hours discovering great music so that you can spend your enjoying it.
Here’s how I discover great new music:
- Listen to online radio stations. A personal favorite is RadioParadise because of his eclectic mix. He’s likely to play Pink Floyd next to Euphoria and followed by Bach and somehow it all makes sense.
- Read a few blogs I trust and my pals on the B5 Music Channel are a great place to start.
- Listen to more of what I’ve discovered using a subscription service like Real’s Rhapsody. Or try full song streaming of some acts on Napster or Lala.
- Get out the credit card and buy it.
