Since radio sucks, what’s on the airplay charts doesn’t matter. And if everyone’s grabbing tracks free on the net, sales charts are irrelevent too. So how do you measure what bands are hottest at any given moment? How can you find out how your favorite bands measure up in popularity against your friend’s favs?

Songkick - who you may already know for its great tools for tracking tour dates - has a new “chart” that measures a band’s net buzz. It looks at things like MySpace activity, blog posts plus Songkick and Amaozn rankings and then compares them with up to two other bands of your choice.
