Another free DRM free mp3 download this week - “Girl Downtown” comes from Lost Highway Records protégé Hayes Carll. Fellow singer and songwriter Texan Ray Wiley Hubbard equates watching his friend Hayes perform with watching two trains heading full speed toward each other on the same track, but adds, “He walks on that stage, and he just owns it.”

I like it. Light hearted without feeling trite. clever lyrics without seeming like he’s trying to hard.
