How To Stream Music From Your Computer To Any Browser
For Windows Only - Ever wish you could listen to that great collection of music you’ve got stored on your home computer at work or visa versa? Three web applications make it possible and each takes a slightly different approach:
- JukeFly has a slick interface that runs a small server on your desktop that reaches back to the other computer
making all your media files available. - Orb.com offers a free download that enables streaming of your music to your computer, cell or even PDA. Orb also enables remote video streaming and with the addition of a TV tuner card you can stream from your home’s TV to almost anywhere.
- Anywhere.FM asks you to upload your music collection to their servers and makes it available on whatever computer your on. In some ways its a cleaner solution but it requires that you keep Anywhere.fm updated. Unlike JukeFly and Orb you do not need to leave your computer on at home to access your tunes.
