2 Songs To Add To Your iPod Today

For me the song is everything. I love a ripping guitar solo as much as the next person. But give me some intelligent and heartfelt lyrics inside a well constructed song and I don’t care if the singer sings well or the musicians play past the third grade level. Here are two great songs that are fighting for #1 on my mp3 player right now.

“Moment Of Forever” is a fabulous Kris Kristofferson love song done here by Willie Nelson.

For another view of love, here’s “Falling Slowly” from the fabulous Once film soundtrack.

  • From the world of 4 global music mecca’s….Jet-set half way around the globe for two must have Aussie tracks at Oz Music Scene.

  • Austin Sound Check gives us two tracks that you need to hear.
  • Toronto is a bustling and exciting music scene and Toronto Unplugged gives us two solid, soild tunes.

5 New Downloads You’ll Want To Know About

Lizzyspit photoLizzyspitLaura’s Diary Bubbly, bouncy, smart and sassy – Londoner Lizzyspit puts a spin on traditional pop, using a unique, conversational, yet sing-song tone to express her wistful romanticism in a sharp and spirited way. She addresses the anguish inherently inevitable in love in a very realistic, easy-to-understand style. With simple lyrics peppered in a fresh, frisky way, woebegone lovers will feel uplifted after giving these attractive songs a listen.

Frank HamiltonWaking Up @ 3 Frank and his band of misfits play catchy songs of heartache that would make even The Beautiful South jealous. Frank’s style is unique, although you may consider him to be a bit of a modern day Billy Bragg with songs about ‘being dumped in text messages’ and how in one song, all he wanted for Christmas was to be curled up on the sofa with the girl of his dreams watching a crap Bond film.

The HaikuBlind Man Takes the Gun According to The Haiku, the stereotype of a sad and tormented guitar player that typically associates itself with acoustic music can be avoided – and is – in the case of this dynamic English duo. Delivering an energetic sound injected with irresistible lyrics laced with wit, humour and a hint of emotion, The Haiku dispense acoustic rock induced with just a little more oomph and intellect, resulting in infectiously fun guitar riffs and rants.

Triple M Maybe I How about some music from an expatriate of Arista records? Singer Mark Vormawah has a passionate voice that seats itself perfectly with Mike Moran’s mellow production. This is delightful oceanic music that is calming and pleasing to explore, with a stylish guitar riff throughout the ballad that tickles me.

DJ FELIXLOVE U SO I got my French disco shoes on this week! DJ Felix’s Love U So is a classic disco track with all of the random samples and noises that might sound creepy elsewhere but fit perfectly in this genre. Electronica baby, electronica. In this track, the eighties synths meet consistent bass, an unidentifiable sequence of sounds, and then a sweet voice saying, ‘Disco, I love you so’. Get some.
